Q. I understand the “I” is false, but when I
awake I understand my whole world is
“spun out” in the morning. It appears that my life is divinely guided by
Self, in little and big ways. What is the relationship between that sense of
being guided and my making decisions; When “ I “ make decisions, I stiffle that
natural movement and flow. Can you speak about being guided ?
Maharaj : Everybody is guided . Everybody is guided by
that knowledge or power, what you say. And the world is also created with that
power. As you think of yourself as an individual, you take it that - mind works
everything. You don´t understand that the power is doing there. When you say “
I do everything “, you give entity to yourself – I do everything. So,
automatically, understanding comes in the mind – from the birth also you have
been taught in that way, by your parents and everybody. So, everything is
guided by HIM only, agree ? But that depends upon you , how you take it, how
you responds to it. Ignorant people, they don´t know. 101 % , how can I be that
power ? “ I´m the body and the name, given by parents.” So there, the mind
works only and from the birth, everybody is given that undertstanding, that
this is true.
If a boy says “ this is water “ , parents say,
“ no it´s ocean, it´s a river.” Boy is right. When he says, “ oh, so much water
is there “, but still parents say, “ no it´s to be called ocean or river or
pond, “ whatever it may be. They clarify him. So, they put more ignorance in
him or not ! They pour ignorance in you, and you take up that, you accept it.
Why do you accept it ? As you are ignorant. You never knew he was my father or
mother you never knew anything. “ Oh, I´m your Mummy and Papa then. Who is there ? Due to ignorance he
accepts, no ? When he took the birth he is dependent on you. In the beginning
he was dependent on the mother, then as he grows up a little, then friends. He
plays with them and takes their support. When he goes to school, another circle
he makes. And then he goes to college, get´s the degree and everything, and he
accepts everything as true. Whose fault ? It is your fault ! Because you never
think of it. Let the people say anything. If the boy is clever then he says, “
this is water, why you call it ocean ! “ If he says that then ? What reply have
you got, tell me ! No, it is called ocean !” You have to say that. You make him
more ignorant, nothing else. Due to ignorance you have taken the birth, he has
taken the form. Then more ignorance . You are the form, you are the body,
you´re American, you´re Indian you´re African. All these things come in the
mind then. He accepts because he doesn´t know.
Suppose I ask you where this way goes. What you
say, I take correct or not ! So, when some trouble comes then he thinks, “ how
it happened ? “ What to do now? ” Sometimes body troubles comes, sometimes
certain near relatives troubles come, sometimes money troubles come. Many ,many
things come and then he thinks, “what to do ? “ And then he remembers God,
nothing else, what to do ! When there is no way out of it , then …..So this I
told you yesterday, it´s a maze , created by the God. And you have taken birth
in it and you want to know, “who is doing ? Oh, I´m doing !”
If the manager is there in the office, he
commits a mistake, but still what does he say ? It´s a clerical mistake. He
never takes it upon himself. What he writes is a clerical mistake, or due to
misunderstanding, anything they use ! Nobody takes on himself. Ego doesn´t want
to take anything on him. And then your mind understands in a different way. Her
mind or his mind understands in a different way. And then all confusion comes
always !
When one get´s married, with full understanding
they marry or not ! Afterwards confusion comes due to the mind, different
thoughts of mind. Then you say, “ I want to divorce, nothing else. I can´t
carry on with you.” This happens. Otherwise, with love you have done
everything, with understanding you´ve done everything, go to the church, get
yourself married and everything, what happens? It´s o.k. But still, time comes
and difference of opinion comes in the mind. Then everything happens ! As you
know, WHO AM I first – that is
the main mistake, no ?! One mistake makes a thousand mistakes. No mistakes
then? What realized persons do ? They do nothing ! They take you out of the
ignorance circle – they say, “ come this way now. People are going this way,
you have to come with me if you don´t accept, why He should worry ?
